Trinseo Netherlands B.V. is seeking a motivated employee to join the Global Innovation Center (GIC) in Terneuzen. In this role, you will address technical challenges in the development of advanced specialty and sustainable material solutions. Your work will invovle conducting experiments, performing advanced analytical evaluations, developing and optimizing analytical methods. By supporting ongoing R&D activities, you will help strengthen Trinseo’s business growth and enhance GIC Terneuzen’s expertise in polymer analytics. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to innovative material development while gaining deep technical experience in a leading global research environment.

 

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Take end-to-end responsibility, from understanding internal and external needs to identifying and selecting the right analytical methods, conducting tests, evaluating data, and managing feedback loops
• Plan and evaluate virgin and recycled monomers and polymers, compounds, additives, and products, including sample preparation and testing (e.g., GCMS, FTIR, HPLC, GPC, TGA, DSC)
• Analyze and document measurement results accurately and comprehensively
• Provide insights into test results and maintain effective feedback loops for internal and external stakeholders
• Optimize experimental protocols for polymer analytics and develop tailored test programs
• Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis to identify root causes of material/composition issues
• Actively contribute to cross-functional projects involving R&D, production plants, and customers
• Expand and enhance the data bank to enable automated data interpretation using AI, increasing efficiency, robustness, and throughput of material analytics

Kwalificaties

  • Minimum Education Required: Master's degree in polymer science, polymer chemistry, material science and engineering, or a related field with a focus on analytics
  • Minimum Experience: 1-3 years work experience are preferred
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques commonly used in polymer research
  • Experience in composition analysis is an advantage
  • Enjoyment of hands-on lab work and problem solving
  • Independent, reliable, and solution-oriented working style
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Curious mindset with a genuine interest in learning new materials, techniques, and equipment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and common IT tools
  • Strong communication skills in English, with Dutch as a plus
