The Sustainability Business development manager plays a crucial role for Trinseo in the sustainable plastics industry for several reasons:

 

  1. Market Expansion and Innovation: Business development helps identify new markets and opportunities for sustainable plastics. This includes exploring innovative materials and technologies that can reduce environmental impact.
  2. Strategic Partnerships: Building relationships with key stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, is essential. These partnerships can drive the adoption of sustainable practices and create a more robust supply chain.

Verantwoordelijkheden

The Sustainability Business Development Manager (SBDM) will be instrumental in advancing Trinseo’s sustainability initiatives and driving business growth. This role involves identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and promoting sustainable practices both within the organization and to external stakeholders.

 

The SBDM’s primary focus areas include:

  1. Trinseo Engineered Solutions: Serving various industries mainly in Europe, with focus on building & construction industry: electrics and lighting. From time to time the SBDM may also be involved in automotive and consumer sectors.
  2. Key Customers and Partners: This includes customers, commercial leads, OEMs and brand owners, partners, industry networks, and associations.

 

Additionally, the SBDM will:

  • Serve as a trusted sustainability advisor, collaborating with commercial and business teams on sustainability requirements. This ranges from pricing suggestions to advising on circular approaches for customers, assisting in pipeline development, and elaborating business cases.
  • Work closely with other SBS functions, such as global sustainability procurement.
  • Promote Trinseo and its sustainable solutions, by participating in conferences, congresses, or exhibitions

Kwalificaties

  • Master of Science Economics, Sustainability Business, Engineering or similar
  • 10+ years of commercial / business experience in a plastics (or better) sustainable plastics environment
  • Must have: customer centric thinking, team player mentality, perservance and go get mentality
  • A big plus: German and/or French language proficiency   
  • Preferred: experience in plastic materials solutions for building & construction: electrics and lighting
